Professional Learning Funding provided by Manitoba Education - Please provide details below
1)To date, how have you used the money your division received for K-8 teachers' LwICT professional learning in 2008-09 and 2009-10?
Scott Bateman School has been purchasing projectors, printers, refurbished laptops, and new computers for all staff. All classrooms in SBMS are connected to the Internet and all teachers and staff have an email.
2) What professional learning is occurring now because of the extra funding that you previously not able to do?
Professional learning that is occurring is in small group training and one to one training in SBMS. Teachers are learning new programs like Google Docs, Google Presentations, Outlook Express (Email), Slide Rocket, and Sketch Up. Epearl is being used in another school in Kelsey School Division.
3) Does your division have any strategies for ongoing professional learning (For example: Professional Learning Community - online, face-to-face, mentors, etc?)
- web design training
- 4-40 minutes periods per cycle for mentoring, fixing, and updating computers.
4) What successful strategies would you like to recommend to other divisions?
